In Closing…

I’d like to thank all of my students for another wonderful year at Patapsco.  It is hard to say goodbye to the 8th graders, some of whom I’ve taught since 1st grade!  Although no student should ever have to have the same teacher for that long (!), I think we’ve had a really good time together and some beautiful music to show for it.  My 8th grade music classes were just outstanding this year– I know you all can take what you’ve learned and really have fun playing instruments in school or at home on your own time.  You were considerate, hard-working, and outstanding audience members.  Now get out there and take in some concerts so you can put those skills to good use!  I look forward to seeing many of your families at the Music Awards night on Monday (13th at 6:30 pm in the cafeteria) and wish all of you a safe and happy summer.  Keep singing!

P.S. I will be sending audition music and recordings home over the summer for singers who want to get a head start for the GT Chorus (6/7/8) or All-State (7/8/9) auditions in the Fall.

Take care,  ~Mrs. Mills~

Assessment 4/6

Parents of 7th and 8th grade Chorus members– The following is important information regarding next week’s Choral Assessment trip to Long Reach High School:

NOTE: The bus will leave Patapsco at 4:30.  We will organize in the cafeteria at 4:15.  Students can go home at dismissal and then come back to school OR they can stay after school and work on HW in the music room with Mrs. Mills.  If they choose to stay at school, they must have all of their concert attire when they arrive to school in the morning.  They may hang their clothes in the closet in my classroom when they arrive to school and change into their clothes after school.  We will be back to Patapsco for pick-up between 7:45-8:00 p.m. and students will be able to enter the building to get their backpacks and school clothes.

Treble Chorus performs on stage at LRHS at 5:20 PM

Chamber Singers perform on stage at LRHS at 6:40 PM

All are welcome to come watch our performance!  We appreciate your support. ~Mrs. Mills~
